Skybus to Drop Oakland Flights

Despite decent yields on the route, Skybus will drop flights to Oakland this summer due to increasing fuel prices.  The airline has stopped flying to San Diego and Bellingham (WA), and cut the number of Burbank flights to 1, deciding instead to use aircraft on shorterhaul routes where less fuel is burned.  That said, their average fares on the short-haul routes hasn’t been good either.  Even so, keeping their aircraft flying more hours on short-haul is a sound strategy (assuming they can get their fares to an even moderately reasonable level).

  1. that doesn’t sound so good but if it’s the only way then I guess it’s better for the Skybus to decide that.
